Description

Here's a new Coil, it is a Ballast 12v coil and suits the following models from Reliant -

RELIANT

Reliant Robin (1973- )

Reliant Rialto (1981- )

This is for the Ballast Type ignition used from 1973 onwards.

Not for earlier models which you can identify as they have the Side Entry or the Dome shaped distributor cap - The Ballast type cap has a square upright sides.

This is a Ballast coil, the earlier models use a Non Ballast coil - the two are not interchangeable.

The function of this coil is to generate the 000's of volts required by your spark plugs, they deteriorate with age and the insulation between the wires inside can breakdown and therefore the coil needs replacing once in a while.
