CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER (Triumph Spitfire) (Mk2, Mk3, Mk4 & 1500) (** From 1965- 80 **)

CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER (Triumph Spitfire) (Mk2, Mk3, MK4 & 1500 Parts) (** From 1965- 80 **)

Not for Spitfire Mk1 of 1962- 65.

Description

Here's a new Clutch Slave Cylinder Assembly (7/8") for the following models from Triumph -

TRIUMPH

Triumph Spitfire Mk2    (1147cc) (1965- 67)

Triumph Spitfire Mk3    (1300cc) (1967- 70)

Triumph Spitfire MkIV   (1300cc) (1970- 74)

Triumph Spitfire 1500   (1500cc) (1974- 81)

(Not for the earlier Spitfire Mk1 1147cc of 1962- 65 because it uses a Coil Spring Clutch)

This Slave Cylinder is use with the Diaphram clutch - The groove for the pinch bolt on the Slave Cylinder is only one One Side of it.

On the earlier Coil Spring clutch, the Slave Cylinder has a groove for the pinch bolt that goes All The Way Round.

Note - The last Spitfires of 1979- 80 used a Metal Cap on the end instead of the rubber boot as fitted to this one. If you've got that then you'll have to prize off your old metal cap an re-use it with this new slave cylinder. I can chuck in the rubber gaiter you'll require if you tell me you need it By Phone and before I've posted the Slave cylinder.

This Slave Cylinder fits on the side of the gearbox and operates the clutch, you access it from inside the car, you take out the gearbox tunnel and replace this part from inside the car. Easy to do, remove the pinchbolt that hold it in place, slot the new Slave Cylinder in making sure the pin inside the bellhousing goes into the slave cylinder. Replace the pinch bolt and tighten it -  then bleed the clutch and off you go.

The rubbers in these can perish and sometimes the piston inside can seize - you can replace the seals (See my other listing) or go for the whole unit if yours is past repair.

(The Background diagram is not included and is no longer available. It's not fitting instructions, does not indicate the originality of this part or which cars it will or won't fit. In short - you're not getting the picture).
