Description

Here's a new Front Brake Pad Fitting Kit (Pins & Shims) for the following models from Ford -

FORD

Ford Escort Mk1 (Twin Cam, RS1600 & Mexico) (1968- Jan 72 Only)

(Only for the above models - ie not 1300cc Non GT)

These are for Imperial Calipers- After the above date they used Metric Calipers.

Identify Your Calipers -

Imperial Calipers - The pins that go through the tops of the pads are 6.0mm fat. The thread for the brake pipe is Imperial. The Caliper mounting holes are an Imperial size.

Metric Calipers - The pins that go through the tops of the pads are 4.5mm fat. The thread for the brake pipe is Metric and the Caliper mounting holes are a larger Metric size.

When you put the brakes on you hear a grinding noise from the front, that means it is time to buy some new brake pads.
