HEAD GASKET SET (Triumph 2000 Mk2 Saloon Parts) (**1968- Aug 1971 Only**)

Here's a new Head Gasket Set for the following models from Triumph -

TRIUMPH

Triumph 2000 Mk2 Saloon   (**From 1968- Aug 71 Only**) 

(**Not for the earlier Triumph 2000 Mk1 of 1963- 68 which has Eng No/ MB **)

(**Only up to Eng ME50,0000 in Aug 1971 which is a Non Recessed bore engine**).

This head gasket set will Only suit the Mk2 models. 

If in doubt the manifold gasket for the Mk1 will be a long straight gasket where the Inlet & Exhaust holes are in line. The later Mk2 the holes are staggered and go up and down.

These models do not use Valve stem seals like more modern cars.

From Aug 71 the Engine Block is Recessed.

That means the block does not have a flat face, there’s a big groove on the block round the top of each piston bore. It’s obvious once the Cylinder head is off.

You can also identify the later Recessed Blocks without dismantling the engine. Look at the engine from the distributor side and there will be a tab sticking out on the end (The end above the gearbox) of the Cylinder Head / Block.
