HEAD GASKET SET (Triumph 2500pi & 2.5pi Saloon Parts) (** From Aug 1971- 77 **)

Here's a new Head Gasket Set for the following models from Triumph-

TRIUMPH

Triumph 2.5pi & 2500pi Saloon  (** From Aug 71- 75**)

(** From Eng/ MG50,001**)

These models do not use Valve stem seals like more modern cars.

Check you still have the correct engine fitted - Eng Prefix No/ MG.

From Aug 71 the Engine Block is recessed.

That means the block does not have a flat face, there’s a big groove on the block round the top of each piston bore. It’s obvious once the Cylinder head is off.

You can also identify the later Recessed Blocks without dismantling the engine. Look at the engine from the distributor side and there will be a tab sticking out on the end (The end above the gearbox) of the Cylinder Head / Block.
