Description

Here's a new Starter Ring Gear (10.948") for the following models with Pre X-Flow engine from Ford -

FORD

Ford Prefect 108e (997cc) (1959- 62)

Ford Prefect 107e (997cc) (1959- 62)

(** Only suits Prefect models of 1959- 62 which got the Pre X-Flow engine **)

(**Not for the any other models in the 100e range which had the 1172cc Side Valve engine and used a smaller 8.828" Ring Gear**)

This fits round your engine flywheel and the starter motor engages it's teeth to turn your engine.

With time the teeth become worn away and your starter motor will jam so that you have to rock the car back and forward in gear to free it off - then try again.

After more wear the starter motor will just skip over the teeth of the ring gear making a noise.

If either of these happen you need to buy this ring gear.

To fit this you have to take out the gearbox..
